JOB TITLE: Credit Risk Analyst

As a Credit Risk Analyst at Elevate Credit Limited you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing the
credit risk associated with our financial products, including log book loans, payslip loans, and invoice
discounting. Your insights and analysis will directly contribute to the company’s risk management strategy and
Risk Assessment and Analysis
• Conduct thorough credit risk assessments of loan applicants using credit scoring models.
• Analyse financial statements and cash flow of clients to assess their creditworthiness.
• Evaluate the risk involved in log book loans, payslip loans, and invoice discounting.
• Maintain accurate records of credit exposures, defaults, and recoveries.
• Generate regular reports on the credit risk portfolio for management review.
• Utilize data analytics tools to identify trends and potential risk exposures.
Policy and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Recommend improvements to credit risk policies and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry practices and regulations related to microfinance.
• Work closely with the sales and finance teams to align credit risk management with business
• Provide training and guidance to staff on risk-related issues.
• Conduct thorough research on market conditions, industry trends, and economic factors to assess the
potential risks and impact on credit decisions.
• Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance with lending
policies and procedures.
• Assist in the development and improvement of credit scoring models, policies, and processes to
enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of credit evaluations.
• Participate in special projects related to credit risk modelling and process improvement.
• Monitor existing credit portfolios, review borrower performance, and identify any potential credit risks
or opportunities for improvement.
-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
-Proven work experience as a Credit Analyst or in a similar role, preferably in financial institutions, credit rating
agencies, or lending organizations.
-Strong understanding of financial products and services, especially log book loans, payslip loans, and invoice
-Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SAS, SQL).
